No Icons, No National Monuments? Sounds like New York!

If you've read the title of this post then I am sure you're thinking I'm a retarded eight year old whoring for attention. Well please do so, but instead of directing that comment at me direct to Department of Homeland Security! Yes, it would seem like this particular department hadn't gotten much attention lately and decide to cut New York's anti-terror fund from 207.5 million to 124.4 million. To milk the media's attention even more, the reasoning behind these large cuts is because New York actually has quote “no national monuments or icons ”. They're right though. I mean I never got the whole statue thing. What's it called again? Oh yeah, THE STATUE OF LIBERTY! Seriously though, who visits New York for an irreplaceable, once in a life-time French gift when you can see prostitution, drugs and poverty! In conjunction with this, the Department of Homeland security has the audacity to say that “New York City doesn't have any high visibility national icons”. WTF M8?! No high visibility nation icons? The fucker is over 151 ft and that's not counting the pedestal. Plus, which crack-pot conservative decided that the isn't something national? I suppose it wouldn't have any symbolic national meaning any more since this Bush administration practically obviated freedom and liberty out of the country.

Ok, so maybe such things like the statue of liberty, the Brooklyn Bridge and Rockefeller centre aren't things that effect New York's economy directly (Who the hell am I kidding?). However, even the New York Stock exchange isn't granted protection! Not only that but this “form”doesn't even regard New York as THE place for the world financial markets and states that it only has four major bank assets. The city is the home to some of the worlds major corporations and some 8,000,000 citizens. I'd say Bush is attempting to get an approval rating lower than ground zero. Anyone agree?
